      Just come across dont stop the rock with the cadburies cream egg kids on the label, this is gonna be another tune stripped to its bare bones and commercialised, and since when has dont stop the rock been breakbeat >:(

      Also i wonder what Tony Butler makes of all this , did he give cadburies the rights to use his music for the TV advert i wonder.

    • Well, i know the first few bars of that first clip on Juno came from a release on Scratch City Records called "Freestyle EP"...

      It was a breakbeat, sorta Electroey version of Dont Stop The Rock...another much better, but way breakier version was on Over X Posure by R. Damski and Bombing F, this one i have! actually fairly well done if you like Breaks.

      Those two versions on that Juno release are horrible though...its a toughie, i would like to see Electro reach the masses like it did back in the '80's, but with the way things are now people will be watering down everything to sh**t...not sure if we can help that though :-/

      Next thing we know they'll be having the American Idol contestants doing Karaoke to Dont Stop The Rock or Jam On It....can you imagine those twats trying to imitate the chipmunk parts? ;D

    • Eh! Not if I have anything to do with it!...Its an Electro tune and thats what it should be labelled as. Will have a word with Juno myself in a bit.

      ..For me the fact that its going out to the masses is a good thing, its about time this music started getting real recognition, its what the artists who work thier asses off deserve. Keeping things underground will just stunt its potential and thats a selfish thing for the listener to do. I was there in the 80s when it was an underground movement with a commercial output, whilst my classmates were listening to Tears for Fears & Duran Duran albums all of which were bought from the same record stores. The music defines itself as commercial not the press or public opinion, The Prodigy got stick for letting one of their tracks be used in a commercial as well, but it didn't commercialize the track just helped widen their audience.

      If someone wants to be a fool and make a pop song let them, anyone with an ear for music can tell the difference between the 2....Take ...Hey you the rock steady crew for instance, blatantly commercial but it served a purpose and didn't harm the scene at all back then.

      Of course he did - they'd never risk a lawsuit. And I'm sure he doesn't mind as he's making money from it.

      I hear you but i dont want it getting commercialised too much, this used to be one of my fave tracks back in the day but with the freestylers using it and now cadburies im not so stuck on it now, call me elitest but isnt this music for those that know :)

      I believe real music lovers can tell the difference between the 2, and so long as artists like DBS, Bass Junkie, Boris Divider, Debonaire, Egyptian Lover [the list is huge sorry I can't name you all here!] do continue to make high quality Electro tunes then the commercialised pop tosh will pale by comparison. I hope they do start making Electro as they will be doing us a favour if they do, because the minute listeners go looking beneath the surface of the chart they will be amazed at the tunes out there! :cylon:

    • I agree with you Martin, its definately about the approach and the quality of the music. Ive always felt that there was a way to have a commercial output while keeping the integrity and level-headedness of the underground.

      I think its time this music goes out and starts influencing the rest of the world...specially the black community!

      The musical audience is lost because they dont have anything real being given to them, just this recycled pop bs that gets them stuck in messages of either killing each other, demoralizing women or of despair and negative outcomes in life or relationships.

      Not really which generation is Electro gonna appeal to the most, i cant see teenagers of today been into all they know about is x boxs, guns, drugs, gangs and violence, Electro is creative music for creative minds, so maybe its gonna be a winner with people are our own age or students in there 20s because they might see it as another passing fashion phase.
