i dont undertand your question
you ask for a device to record a mixer directly to a cd burner?Sup dv!...sorry for the confusion. I solved the problem, but I'll still try to clarify to you what I needed.
Basically I needed to record a mix, and I only use vinyl, so I thought there was some kind of device you can buy that you can simply hook-up to your mixer, and record your mix straight into a cd, BUT thats not possible (something I didn't know)... you have to record your mix into your computer first, and than record/burn it into a cd from your computer. Sooo, I was told by a studio owner that the device I would need is called an MBOX2-mini...this thing is f**king awesome!! All you do is connect your mixer to the MBOX, and the MBOX to your computer, and BINGO!!...you can now record your live vinyl mix!
Basically it's just converting the analog signal coming from your turntables into digital form onto your computer. The best part is that the software it comes with allows you to edit all kinds of shit into your mix...this thing is like a mini professional mixing and editing studio...it's one of the best $300 I've ever spent!

i got one of those (an old Tascam CDRW700)... but i think its kinda out of fashion to record mixes that way.
its much more handy if you record it with some programm on your PC... because of the
'post production' options. -

elektroakust,
actually you can edit your mixes once they are done using this CD-Recorder device you speak of. If you want to edit the recording, you can simply use your CD to transfer the files to your computer and burn additional copies with your computer's CD burner...this could be done by opening whatever editing/recording program you have. Simple enough, don't you think?

...it's a bit more costly then the $300 I spend on the Mbox, but ALOT ALOT easier to use. Just hook it up to the mixer, and press record. The Mbox is not easy to understand, I'm having a little bit of problem understanding how to use the software, so If I would have know about the Yamaha CDR-HD1500, I would have bought that instead...shit! shit!
Well I guess I'll just try to sell it now, cause I like the Yamaha device better.
SHIT!!!!!

Good piece of kit im sure.
Just seems a bit long winded to transfer from cd to computer, then back to cd again.
You should maybe try and stick with what you got, i know it can be a pain learning new software, but usually its worth it.

And I think your right!...thats exactly what the tech told me at the store I bought it at. He offered to come to my house and tutor/teach me how to use the software, since hes the one who sold it to me... I also just got the cd sound track to the movie in the mail today, so once again I'm a happy man!

yes of course.
but these days i wouldnt spend any money on a standalone CD-recorder...
because it can be all done with the pc anyway.CD-recorders might be easier to use...
and software can be a headache in the beginning if its all new
but once you get used to it ...its worth it i think. -
Yeah your right man, thats what everyone has been telling me, and you guys know more about this digi stuff then me...I'm def keeping the Mbox.
