Yes Or No - Street sounds Electro Chart

  • Quote from Cozmo D;45851

Then you guys are MORE professional than ME! I do EVERYTHING myself on my computer, and for most of my releases I print out labels and booklets and press CDRs! I never said a damm thing about professional!

i was clearly stating none of us is persuing a career as a musician. :)

And by the way, here is what a female member of my crew says:

in our country women do not financially support the men, it is considered a shame, also streets are not made of asfalt, beacause this is the wild wild east not America.

    Cute, wouldnt you agree :)

Oh Jeez, I guess now my manhood is being challenged. ;D

For the record, in this country it is usual that both the man AND the women support the FAMILY, that has been the case with me and my wife. Like I said, back in the '80s we BOTH worked. Once I started making money with the music we stopped. Then, when the music money stopped coming in, she went back to work and made me stick with the music, you see it was/is BOTH of our dreams! Remember, she is part of Newcleus as well, and she has sang on many of my other projects. Since the 90s I started making money with the music again, and now I make more than she does when she works (she has been unemployed for the past 2 years due to the financial crisis). It is still barely enough to live on so she is looking for work again, however, she would not be supporting me, we would be supporting each other and our family!

And none of that has anything to do with putting your all into your music. I seriously don't understand what asphalt has to do with anything. ???

Destination earth, still in my top 10!

Thanks again! Maybe you should start a chart! :D

  • Quote from Cozmo D;45852

Because it wasn't worth it to do it anymore? Would you put in hard work every week putting together a chart when the very people who were benefitting from that chart were openly attacking you and impugning your integrity? I wouldn't.

I kept EA open for years getting slagged countless times by countless people.

  • Mmm so it looks like the early questions in this thread will always remain a mystery
to be honest i didn't see anything wrong with someone asking how the sales figures for the chart
where added up it was a fairly straightforward and simple question, and i think any artist that
had tracks in the chart had a right to know how the charts where worked out in more detail.

If it was me i'd of been more worried if the question was not asked ,as it would mean people
couldn't really of cared less about the chart and how it was being run.

  • Quote from Cozmo D;45861

That's cool. I wasn't talking about that either. What I'm talking about is caring about your music. :)

We both can speak and write english and we still need a translator :D

We do care about our music man, we do. :)

Nah I would never do a chart for a track, I am more interested in the artists repertoire and what they are trying to communicate with the listeners.

Here is a chart in no specific order :D

    Carl Finlow
    Velcro Fastener
    Braincell
    Lektroid
    Anthony Rother
    Mariel Ito
    Kan3da
    Unn
    214

    Exactly,

The proper response would have been anwsering the question and burry the doubt with pure facts, that would have done more use for SS than simply backing up.

The system was and is very simple and I believe fair; we looked what was being played on other radio shows including GFR using playlists and/or podcasts, visited several download sites including Juno and Beatport, read what the Electro forums were saying about new tunes and then used charts submitted by DJs (including Martin Evolvah’s at the time), artists, producers and the FANS! This is still the principle of how the charts are compiled.

    :)

  • "The system was and is very simple and I believe fair"

I have seen some facebook spam recently stating : vote for my track by sending an email to streetsounds.

This makes a problem obviously since it makes the whole thing very unreliable, people who dont necessarily listen to your show or electro at all can vote for something they havent even heard.

    +

Other relevant people discredited him already so I guess its bye bye to this thread :)

  • I just posted that as some were saying that he didn't answer as to how the chart was compiled. I agree with you completely about the system and how it was susceptible to ballot stuffing, and said so in this thread and to him when he first came up with it.

I have nothing but respect for Yvette for both her work w/ Newcleus and that she has worked very hard to support your family while you have been able to pursue your dreams. She is a cool lady! 8)

Awww... thanks Starrie, coming from you that means a lot! You know that I love seeing another musical couple like you and Santino pursuing their musical dreams together! I will pass this on to Yvette, I know that she will appreciate it! :)

Yea man im so happy now... ::)

I only asked, and got the anwser from everybody but the one compiling the chart.

    Weak.

You did a lot more than just asked a question, for example private emails from Kate and all this negative bullshit. Sure SS chart was little biased but everybody knew it and that chart wasn't taking away anything from anybody. But hey now the world is sooooo much better when the chart is dead and everybody has have their punches to Morgan...

Like you put it, WEAK! :(

I believe that this is good because the next time when Morgan decides to do something he will do it right from the start. He is in the game for long period but also he is far far away from professional like he represents himself.

    Cry more?

So if everybody knew this it makes it ok?

    In what parallel universe?

Morgan brought up to whom he made a faulty payment, isnt that private also?

Lay off my case will you and go crying to someone else that we should appreciate a bogus chart.

Well. This has easily been the most depressing thread I've read in years. So sad.

    Agreed.

This thread probably does a lot more damage to the Electro scene overall than a slightly biased chart that most people already knew was slightly biased =/
