21st Century ELECTRO - your favorites?

  • This is tough because, imo, the decade in question was probably when some of the best electro ever was released. So many good tunes during this time.
I have too many to list, but I will narrow it down to one group who were so fresh and innovated, who created some of my favorite music ever

Simulant - everything they produced. All their Scopex releases, remixes, and track on MTA

  • Although I am a old school fan, I do appreciate a cool new school electro track. There are so many good ones I have and heard, but this one was a little suprise for me...someone told me about this one, I would never ever found it I guess. One side old school style, side B is more new school, both very cool imo, shame they only made 10 acetates of it. Very glad I have a copy...Cowboy and the Vocoder is the tune for me!

Red Martian - Cowboy and the Vocoder

interesting. is the B Side available to listen somewhere?
A1 sounds nice... like Bruce Haack meets DMX Krew and Cylob. 8)

  • Yup, if you listen to the youtube track, its actually side A and side B played after eachother!
Side A is more a Kraftwerk like track, while side B is totally different..more new school!

  • check out Sound Chasers and Electro music Specialist (EMS) lots of BASS and scratching some tasteful vocoder work, ;D

I see alot of stuff here but I am looking for recommendations to newer electro/funk artists that have an old school feel to them. Either incorporating scratching, vocoders, etc... Thanx for any help. I have been starting to broaden my tastes a little but since I haven't been listening to ANY newer electronic music I am a little out of the loop. I am NOT into house or techno tho. Straight up electro/funk. I patiently wait... ???
