Quote from Cozmo D;54900
So now we're attacking me? In what way am I decadent? I have never shown you anything but respect, and I never speak anything but truth here, so please tell me the grounds for your attack?
Apparently this is not an attack but the sad truth... You are playing the role of an "attorney" to a person who keeps fucking everyone who dares to not... worship him and his old-fashioned business.
You know very well that Rich is a very kind guy who would never cause any trouble unless he was totally fucked up by mr. Moregain.
Congratulations for the big success of what you call "UK Fresh Reunion"...
(Don't bother to post a quote, i won't bother to read it...Nuff said) -

I'm not playing any role just stating facts as they happened. If this didn't involve me I wouldn't have anything to say. Everything that I said was true and I believe that Richie would agree. If he had let me help him in his dealings it could have all been avoided.

In response to a couple of people on the thread that are interested in an opinion from somebody who was actually there........
Would I go again, yes I would.
Nice one Beatronic (how are you BTW?). I was on holiday so had to miss this unfortunately, but I would definitely have gone if I could. And I reckon I'd have enjoyed myself. Like you, I'd be up for seeing any old-school artist in the UK as it's such a rare treat. Fuck, I'd have paid £30 just to see Captain Rock (who put on a fantastic performance judging by the videos I've seen - all things considered).
From what I've heard from people I know who went, it sounded like a good laugh / get together, and I'm gutted I missed it.

Well I was there AND IT WAS A FUCKIN GREAT SHOW PERIOD i dont have time for all the Bullshit politics regarding it and if you were not there i cant se how you can comment.

I was a the event on Saturday and as anyone who was there will attest, it was a great night.
That's all we wanted and that's what we got.
I met some of my childhood heroes and got autographs from the artists including Cozmo who did so with complete reverence and humility.
But most of all everywhere you looked was completely positive, like-minded old blokes who still love and live the spirit of the time of electro. I could talk to anyone without fear of retribution which sadly is not the case on this board. -

Yeah i'm good thanks, I did wonder if I would bump into you at the Scala, shame you couldn't make it.
You would have enjoyed it, as the recent comments above say, it was just a good get together with like minded people and an evening of OUR music. How often do you get to go to a club and hear the likes of 'B Boys Breakdance' or 'Boogie Down Bronx' blasting out the speakers. And yes, seeing Captain Rock do his thing was worth every penny!!
Seems most the negativity is coming from those that have had bad dealings with Morgan Khan which is a seperate issue altogether. I know nothing about his business dealings so won't comment, I can only judge the night as a paying customer and it was well organised and a great night.

Seems those who went and ofcourse seemed to of enjoyed it have not read the earlier posts or announcements regarding this event in this very thread.
You might of seen 3 acts and a few breakers but when you consider that there was so much talk in the months leading up to it about "more legendary acts" FREESTYLE were mentioned as being in negotiation, D.ST ofcourse, Whoever runs the official Streetsounds page wrote "press the like button" if you want BLASTROMEN at the reunion.. that being another act that never got booked.
First announcement... NEWCLEUS,CAPTAIN ROCK,THE B BOYS... ok.. they are announced first... so ofcourse this was just a taste of things to come right?... (If you think im wrong to assume so then you have zero experience of going to live events, gigs or anything.... and i might add... paying to see a so called "DJ" using a laptop is not an event or gig (im refering to trash such as Judge Jewels,Westwood and other bullshit ofcourse that are considered "live acts"...now it seems Arthur Baker also was on stage with a laptop... dear me..Live act my arse!)back to the announcements... 4 acts announced (including D.ST who pulled out) .... right, surely the headliners and other acts to be announced later are going to be obvious incredible right? who could it be ? Egypt?,Unknown DJ ?,Arabian Prince ?,Dj cheese ?,.... surely its gotta be something amazing?
This is not in anyway a knock at Newcleus,D.ST,Cpt Rock or The B.boys... not at all... but ofcourse its expected that some MORE LEGENDS will be added....SHIT!! IF THEYVE ANNOUNCED THOSE 4 ALREADY... JUST IMAGINE WHO ELSE THEY WILL GET!! right?
(yes i am right!....)
however... what happens.
DAVE PEARCE!.... ???????
ARTHUR BAKER ???????
GREG EDWARDS ?????????????????and the removal of GRANDMIXER D.ST .. only to be replaced by CHUCK CHILLOUT (who by rights should of been included in THE B.BOYS anyway)
Its like announcing COZMO D months after Newcleus. Really it is... cos Chuck Chillout was The B.Boys DJ... (at least he was on the ELECTRO recors..and this was an Electro Reunion)
It was months of guessing and waiting for the big announcements that never came.
And THAT is the dissapointment.
Having 3 acts play short sets at a one off gig could of been announced just like any other gig, no hype no "this is gonna be historical" etc.
And it was certainly no difficult thing to organise either. other genre's of music put on gigs, events all the time. why should 3 acts (with no guitars, drumkit, stacks of amplifiers etc on stage) be so hard to organise???
two turntables and a microphone... pass the mic, switch the dj.... job done!...

LiveWire - maybe many acts were in negotiation and pulled out due to being unable to agree fees etc? I'm sure it's actually fairly hard to book acts who, firstly are US based, and secondly may not even be active now?
I understand your disappointment - but it's not like anyone else is flying over old-school hip hop acts from the States to perform in London is it. I'm just glad someone is.

Now lets have it right, Street Sounds have misused the good will within the true dance communitty, he ( morgan) focused on profit and nothing else. This isn't something that i disagree with but when you advrtise (poorly) that your bringing over from the U.S.A. some of the Electro giants of the 80's we all expect a true show, not an act dressed in a shirt with drunks running in and out of the DJ booth!!!! £40!!! i repeat £40!! now call me stupid but i also contacted SS thru a friend as i have friends who have worked for over 20 years in the live music business and they wanted to get an act to thrown down some lyrics! this request was intercepted by SS who the began asking for silly money! i realise everything costs but an artist that hasn't worked for over twenty years must realise that he has to start performing well, if this had been acheaived we would have been willing to talk about the money, but we were told we had to go thru a third party that also wanted OUR money! thta right SS. i wonder if he told his axt that he had destoted that acts chance to produce with top DJ's up North! in fact when SS did that my people pulled away because what SS fail to realise is the dance scene dont need or want arogant bods with a poor performance record! I'm truley annoyed with the treatment diched out by those who have an over inflated sense of thier own importance! MY ADVICE IS SIMPLE IF YOU GET SOLD A PUP THE FIRST TIME DONT GO BACK FOR A SECOND!!! ss FAILED IN 88 AS THEY COMPLETELY MISSED THE RAVE SCENE AND NOW ITS TOO LATE SO NOW HE'S SELLING MEMORIES! AND AS FOR THE WAY HE TREATS ARTIST...............well what goes around....... -
Christ, I wish the internet did not exist, really I do... SERIOUSLY. Bring back the days when you had no mobiles, you just met your mates at the jam, did your thing then went home & if it was good or bad you debated it between yourselves.
Now events are dragged over again and again, boring... You know what, in "Real Life" like at work, you put up with shit (at least I do anyway!), people do things good AND bad, what you gonna do... bitch about it on the internet for ever or just get on with it?
Just me? Maybe. I've been shafted a couple of times by people in the music biz, but no one knows as it's personal business... I know not to deal with them again... that's it!
I had a great time at the Fresh reunion and thanked Morgan personally. He made the sound track to my youth and Street Sounds will be a massive part of me until I'm dead... any beyond maybe?? (unverified!)
Peace to EVERYONE in here, you gotta let positivity overcome negativity, learn & move on.
Respect to all EE heads, Rock Rock On...

Great point Lee. It seems that quite a few people are using this thread as an opportunity to raise issues that do not directly relate to the event as experienced by people there on the night. The night did go quite as I expected BUT I am still glad to have been invited to attend and to have experienced seeing the acts that performed.
I met some great people, and all credit to Morgan for putting the event on.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Streetsounds does not have the monopoly on organising events of this kind, and if you want to see something different then the only person stopping you is YOU!
It was billed as the Streetsounds UK Fresh Reunion, and the people who were actually there clearly understood that and (from where I was sat) were enjoying every minute.
