yeah, if I remember correctly, if Audacity crashes before you save or export, it asks you if you'd like to recover the data when you next restart it, so there should be a temp folder somewhere. search your hard-drive!

was that Daddy-O? Plus that beat was a mistake - the story is they loaded the wrong set into the SP12 which led to the unusual beat.

As the others have said, the way to go is definitely record into an application (any should do as long as you can do some basic levels adjustment and save the files out as your preferred format.

I've used Soundforge, Wavepad and Ableton and all give the same results.

Obviously you need a fairly decent soundcard with audio in!

I've heard people say the sound quality isn't as good in Reason as it is in either Cubase or Logic.

I don't understand why though!

Back when I was 11, I didn't really distinguish between Star Raid and the other tracks.
In fact, it appealed to my sci-fi loving, computer game playing brain.
