This was originally a light hearted swipe at the rise in posts on EE claiming to be electro.
Electro mixes, new electro tunes etc that have been posted, which have turned out to be Electro-House.
It does cause confusion though, and surely its better to try to educate people that come here rather than keep quiet?
Anyway, why should we change the name of a genre that has been around for years just to accomodate something newer?

Then its Electro.

If it got:
Kick drum on 1..5..9..13
Non variable drums
goes on for 10 mins with barely any variation
breakdowns for hand raising/waving
tiesto/benassi as a remixer
Then its electro house.

Damn..way too hard to choose one.

Unfortunately some bright spark decided to invent Electro-House.
This in turn got shortened to Electro, thus leading to the current conflict between the 2 genres.
The style of music repped in this forum has been around since the early 80's and you can see why the people within this genre get cheesed off with the confusion.

Not your fault Elit3 by any means, this has been rumbling on for a while now. (and a lot longer i reckon...)

Its a pain in the ass to say the least.
I have to say that im not sending any demos etc out at all now.
I stopped doing this a while back after DDR found unreleased stuff/Demos online.
I stick the odd short demo on Soundcloud now and thats about it.
Any demos, new tracks etc get shared privately with those im working with...and thats it.
This also brings to mind the Egyptian Lover "this is nu electro" track that got used in a mix before being released earlier this year.
There is defo a hole somewhere that needs plugging !

Depends what you mean by dj.
There are many who can put a good mix together, just check the mixes section here to see !
For knowledge i would have to say one of the best i know is Martin Evolvah.
Mixing skill ? Xed, Mirage or Dip.
I like to put a mix out here and there, but im not in their class.
Im also mates with Xed and Mirage..so im gonna stay outa this one lol !!

Totally agree with you mate.
There are a few tracks on that site i havent ever released too.
I saw a couple of demos on other sites previously too.
SOmeone is leaking for sure.
Seems our trust is being abused somewhere along the line.
Watermarking is a very good idea.
Just a shame it has to come to that course of action.
