ha, I hate to break it to ya, but I don't recall hearing Britney Spears in Tots Nightspot in the 80's!

is it not up there already? Good site from DMC. I enjoyed watching Cash Money's 1988 routine again!
-
No he's not.
-
I totally agree Bhose.
-
Rough Cut is wack IMO.
-
^ yep, I agree with that.
-
I think "The Dream Team Is In the House" is Ok.
Other than that though pretty poor.

If that's disco then so is PE's Rebel Without A Pause. Classifcations on sites are sometimes ridiculous and totally subjective, but then again so are all opinions including mine!
Okay, you're bit of lawyer on terms I know that, but it is my STRONG opinion that that is not disco, that better Brad?
Yep!
Still sounds like disco to me - much of it even has a nice 4x4 beat.

Sad news indeed.
EON's music was so influential to me with regards to discovering techno and getting into the rave scene back in 1990.
His tracks were unique. A bona-fide legend. RIP.

The dongle itself shouldn't be a problem - after all Cubase's dongle has been cracked.
Ansd yeah, The Akai is horrible and the orange vocoder is useless.

Tele's a lady, you can' t call her 'mate'??
haha, of course you can you old sexist. Even my nan & granddad (RIP) called each other 'mate'.
But anyway - it's clearly 'I can't wait' which I love. Don't rate anything else by him to be honest.
-
ah, of course. I forgot about chorus. I can see how that will help!
I'll have a play with a saw from different sources, cheers lads!
-
Yep, well done Tele! Not a bad turn out and it was a really good venue. Thanks for organising it and asking me to play!
Good to see some people who I haven't seen in years - I didn't even recognise Urban Jedi!! lol (sorry Mike!)
Did anyone record the night?
-
well, it sat side by side with the house music of the day and it was caned at raves and in 'house' clubs.
At the time I was only really listening to hip hop. Our friends who went to raves were the only ones I knew who played this tune.
It's an 89 rave track, pure and simple, regardless of it's 'genre'. It may have a syncopated beat as opposed to a 4x4, and it may be classed as 'freestyle' and not 'house' but that means nothing really - the boundries between genres are blurred.
Same goes for those Todd Terry tracks really - they were played at 'raves' and parties. Not at hip hop jams or on hip hop radio shows. And don't forget that 'rave culture' was around long before people started speeding up breakbeats and calling it 'hardcore'.
-
would have thought that would be too ravy for you Bhose.
What's 'hip hop' about it?
-
bugger, how do you remove posts or make youtube links work?
Damn swine forum....
-
I reckon those sort of Todd Terry tracks perfectly link electro and house.
I've always rather liked this:

Tele, I take it you've checked that this club has decks and isn't a 'CD only' venue (they do exist!) lol...
