it's not a question of snoberry

"you want to see a real, yes i say a real electrofunk studio, here it is !!!"

That statement in itself stinks of snobbery, there was absolutely no need for such arrogance. How do you think it makes people feel who are new to producing who are using minimal gear. Every setup is relevant, and I wouldn't stop listening to a certain artist just because they do all of their productions solely on a clapped-out laptop, likewise with any setup.

"by the way i have a gold records for this kind of music"

    ...more snobbery and arrogance.

do you know why musicians like vangelis , susan ciani , herbie hancock stop to produce electronic music , because the new instruments became box without feeling , it's what they said and i m totally agree,

Those artists you mention used the tools of their era, because eurorack & nord modulars etc. weren't available when they released their stuff in the '70s. They just used the tools of their time, and now retired musicians.

i have more pleasure to play music with vintage synths than in new synths with no feeling , it's like a collector who love the old paint, the old car... don't speak to them of new stuff !!!

It's the artist that puts the feeling in music, not the machines. I get feeling out of all my synths new or old, because I take the time and passion to make them work for me.

Your priorities seem to be in showing off a load of old gear and trying to shame those who don't have it. You have it all wrong. I've had much of that gear in your setup and sold it for better stuff. I'm not impressed whatsoever with your "real electrofunk studio", which implies everyone else's setup is fake. Have some respect and don't be so egotistic. That's not what this scene is about.

I understand the guys who post pictures of their studio but if they don't have any vintage machines like808 or p5 , no interest !!!

Pure synth snobbery. This is exactly the wrong attitude to have, certainly not the attitude of a good musician. I know people who produce with minimal modern gear and make some great tracks, I also know people with all the classic gear and don't have a clue how to use it. You need to decide whether you are a musician or a museum.

Some of my new gear sounds WAY better than my old synths. I have old Junos and Crumar synths in the cupboard, because I get better use from some of the modern gear. I also build my own gear because of my love for electronics and music, but the big modular synth isn't even complete, so in your eyes it's shit because it's new???

Well here's my setup, make of it what you will...

roland sh 201 is very serious synth , but it need sometime to dedicate to him (as for all roland gear) to figure that is a monster

I LOVE the SH201, more than my 101 for its HUGE sound the 101 does have the edge controlling the modular, but the 201 has a massive sound. In fact one of my favourite boards, above the JD800 & Juno1... Sometimes it's not all about vintage...

Unfortunately for some reason the cam shut off before I finished (did a really nice outro too). I had loads of memory and battery left but it stopped prematurely. I will remake this and upload to bandcamp if anyone wants a copy.

Using a couple of the new Roland Aira machines and my home built modular...

This one straight off the top, nothing planned, just caught a groove I was feeling.

    Enjoy...

Brilliant mix, love the downtempo melodic Electro stuff, great to drive to (I have the whole series in my car). I just wish producers would make more of this style, I can't get enugh of it.

Thanks for including one of my tracks too. I can't wait for the next one...

This album is sooo great. You did an amazing job here!
Any chance to bring this on vinyl one time?
I bet as limited edition it would soon have a really high value.

Thanks for your kind words. I'd love to do a vinyl release, quite a few people have asked already, but I don't really have the capital to get that side of things going (I keep spending it on music gear). The business side of music has never been my strongpoint, but if there's any labels who want to license a few tracks for vinyl, please get in touch.

I would firstly like to say a massive thanks to all who supported me with this album. The interest has been phenomenal to say the least. I have since been interviewed on Bass Agenda, as well as many amazing web reviews online. It is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Juno, etc. However, my preferred outlet is bandcamp, for the instant gratification to the musician.

I have also included some current shots of the setup used to create this album, as I know many of you like gear porn as much as I do.

Due to the massive success of the last album, I have spent the past two years crafting my brand new Deep Melodic Electro album, LektroiD - Quantum Theory.

Countless hours and many sleepless nights have been spent ensuring every last detail exceeds expectation, from the passion behind the musicality to the cover art photography.

There are many exclusive tracks which I have kept unrevealed for this album, and also re-workings of earlier unreleased tracks which have stood the test of time and hopefully continue forward to make this album a timeless masterpiece.

I would like to pass on my immense thanks to everyone who has supported me so far… Every penny (and more) has gone back into hand crafting the music equipment featured on this album, to create the captivating and innovative sounds.

I hope everyone can continue to support me as an artist by grabbing yourself a copy from any online mp3 stores I have it available in. Every little counts and means a great deal to me.

Currently only on Bandcamp, I'll post more links as they go live:
